Australia’s WorleyParsons has won the contract to provide consultancy services to the new petrochemicals complex at the Chemicals Industrial City at Taweelah in Abu Dhabi, the largest integrated chemicals facility ever built.
WorleyParsons will provide project management services for the pre-front-end engineering and design (FEED), and engineering, procurement and construction portions of the multi-billion project, which will comprise urea, aromatics and polymer facilities.
The client on the scheme is Chemaweyaat, a joint venture of Vienna-based Borealis, Abu Dhabi Investment Council and International Petroleum Investment Company (IPIC).
MEED will publish more information on the project, including its product slate and the companies licensing their technology to the scheme on 2 May.
