Engineering firm’s bid was for 10,000 man hours of engineering design work
Australia’s WorleyParsons has won a new front end engineering and design (Feed) contract covering studies for a new gas flaring system at Habshan in Abu Dhabi, sources close to the project tell MEED.
Abu Dhabi Gas Industries Company (Gasco) awarded the deal to WorleyParsons during the week ended 13 May. No details of the contract value are available, but sources with knowledge of the deal say that WorleyParsons’ bid was for approximately 10,000 man hours of work.
One of the key components of the project is an acid gas removal system, one source with close ties to Gasco tells MEED.
The project is just one part of a series of multimillion dollar schemes undertaken by Gasco at its Habshan gas processing and distribution hub in recent years. It is preparing for a slew of new gas to pass through the complex after the completion of projects like the Offshore Associated Gas development, Integrated Gas Development (IGD) and Shah gas development which combined will add more than 1 billion cubic feet a day to the emirate’s gas production.
