Biography: As CEO of Oman Gas Company (OGC), Yousuf Mohamed al-Ojaili is responsible for supplying gas to the majority of domestic users, and to industrial users including power and desalination plants, oil companies and the port of Sohar.
The company supplies a total of 32 industrial gas consumers through its 2,000-kilometre gas transmission network. To meet growing gas demand in Oman, Al-Ojaili engineered the successful expansion of OGC’s distribution network, including the addition of compression plants.
Al-Ojali is now focusing on other areas of growth and diversification of the company’s responsibilities in the gas sector, particularly on the upstream side. Al-Ojaili joined Oman OGC in 2005 from Petroleum Development Oman (PDO), where he had overseen the development of several major upstream gas developments. OGC was established in 2000.
