Ziad al-Labban
Position: President and chief executive officer (CEO), PetroRabigh
Biography: Ziad al-Labban assumed his current role after the completion of the PetroRabigh integrated refinery and petrochemicals plant in 2009. He is also responsible for ensuring the success of the adjacent Rabigh Conversion Industrial Park (RCIP), where output from PetroRabigh can be transferred to smaller plants for conversion into different products.
Al-Labban is a Saudi Aramco veteran, having joined the firm in 1982 after graduating in electrical engineering from King Fahd University of Petroleum & Minerals.
He held various roles at Aramco, including vice-president of corporate planning for Petron Corporation in the Philippines and chairman of its insurance subsidiary, Ovincor. Prior to his current role, he was president and CEO of Aramco subsidiary Saudi Refining Incorporated in the US. Al-Labban has a master’s degree in petroleum engineering from the US’ Stanford University.
