Biography: Arasco was founded in 1983 by a group of Saudi engineers and farmers including Abdullah al-Rubaian. The firm supports the food supply chain across the kingdom from livestock breeders to food processing plants. Arasco’s main units provide feed and grains and operate poultry farms and slaughterhouses.
Al-Rubaian has worked in the Saudi agriculture industry for more than 30 years, and having built Arasco into one of the kingdom’s largest food companies, he now plans to turn the firm into one of the top 10 feed millers in the world. Al-Rubaian holds several other senior positions including chairman of the National Shipping Company of Saudi Arabia and the Saudi Agricultural Bank.
He is also a board member of the local Mafaz Investment Company. Al-Rubaian has a degree in engineering from King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals in Dhahran.
