Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (Adnoc) has confirmed that its subsidiary Al-Yasat Company for Petroleum Operations has awarded the local National Petroleum Construction Company (NPCC) the engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contract for the full development of the offshore Bu Haseer field.

Adnoc says the agreement covers engineering, procurement, construction and commissioning activities for offshore facilities, which will see production capacity from Bu Haseer increase from 8,000 barrels a-day (b/d) today to 16,000 b/d in 2020.

Over half of the value of the NPCC contract is expected to feed back into the local economy as part of Adnoc’s in-country value programme.

Al-Yasat is 60 per cent owned by Adnoc and 40 per cent by China National Petroleum Corporation (CNPC). It was established in April 2014 and includes two concession blocks.
