A new bridge and expressway linking Abu Dhabi with Saadiyat and Yas Island were officially opened today. The roadworks will link Port Zayed with the Shahama District (on the Abu Dhabi - Dubai highway) passing through Saadiyat and Yas Islands. Saadiyat bridge will link Abu Dhabi with Saadiyat Island - the 27 square kilometre island lying 500 metres offshore the UAE capital. A major portion of the expressway to Shahama passes through Yas Island.
