Contractor will develop headquarters building for Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank
The local Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank has awarded the local/Australian Al-Habtoor Leighton Group a AED400m ($108.9m) contract to build its headquarters in Abu Dhabi.
The new headquarters building will be located on Old Airport Road and will contain two 14-storey towers and four floors of basement parking.
The project was retendered last year after the original tender was cancelled. The contract was originally tendered in 2008, but was cancelled after the client decided to change the design of the development.
The original building was planned to be located on the old Airport Road next to Zayed Sport City (MEED 29:7:10).
