Twin towers will be built on Reem Island
Local developer Aldar Properties has invited companies to express interest in the contract to build its Meera Shams development in Abu Dhabi.
Located in the Shams Abu Dhabi district of Reem Island, the project involves the construction of two mid-rise residential towers that are about 25 storeys tall. Each tower will have 204 apartments. The designer of the towers is Australias Woods Bagot.
The master developer for Shams Abu Dhabi was the local Sorouh Real Estate. It merged with Aldar in June 2013.
In early January, Aldar awarded a AED2bn ($545m) villa construction contract to Dubais Arabtec Construction.
The contractor will construct 1,017 villas at West Yas, Aldars residential development at Yas Island, which are expected to be delivered at the end of 2017.
The contract is the final package to be awarded for the West Yas development, following the infrastructure, school, clubhouse and retail, and mosque packages.
