Algeria has awarded contracts for phase four of the North Field development project.
The three engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contracts were awarded to the following contractors:
-The gas reinjection package was awarded to Italy’s Bonatti
-The civil works package was awarded to France’s Entrepose Contracting
-The surface installations package was awarded to Tunisia-based EPPM
Bonatti’s contract is worth $100m and has a three-year construction period, according to a statement released by Algeria’s national oil company, Sonatrach, one of the three project clients.
The other two clients are Indonesia’s state-owned oil and gas company Pertamina, and Canada-based Talisman Energy.
The Menzel Ledjmet North oil field is located in the Algerian province of Ghardaia.
The project aims to increase the current level of production from around 17,000 barrels a day (b/d) to 30,000 b/d.
The gas injection capacity at the field will also be increased and 20 new wells will be drilled. The scope of the project also includes the workover of 15 wells.
