Advanced Micro Devices, the world's second-largest computer chip maker, has announced that its stockholders have approved a manufacturing joint venture with investment from Abu Dhabi. AMD said the approval from shareholders will lead to the creation of the venture, to be known as The Foundry Company, between AMD and the Advanced Technology Investment Co. (ATIC) of Abu Dhabi. ATIC is a technology investment company owned by the government of Abu Dhabi while Mubadala Development Co. is a joint stock company whose sole shareholder is the Abu Dhabi government.
