Bruce Shaw selected to oversee Bahrain waterfront scheme

The local Amlak Real Estate has announced its appointment of Irish project management firm Bruce Shaw for the new marina development in Bahrain.

In a statement issued to MEED, Niall Greene, Bruce Shaw’s regional director for the GCC, said it is very encouraging to see another major project coming online in Bahrain.

Bruce Shaw is currently involved in several other major schemes in the region, providing both project management and cost management services.

Expected to be completed by 2019, the mixed-use project will include a luxury hotel and serviced apartments, waterfront villas, a shopping mall and a recreational waterfront space with dining and retail facilities.

The project will span nearly 150,000 square metres, covering the area of the existing Marina Club. The yacht club will have the capacity to dock more than 300 boats.

Amlak is the real estate investment arm, and wholly-owned subsidiary, of the Social Insurance Organisation. The marina project will be the first development since the establishment of the company.
