Saudi Aramco has selected contractors for five tenders related to engineering, procurement, construction and installation (EPCI) of key structures at offshore oil and gas fields in Saudi Arabia.
The tenders are numbers 150, 157, 158, 159 and 160 on Aramco’s Contracts Release and Purchase Order (CRPO) system, according to sources. The Saudi energy giant issued the five CRPOs to contractors within its Long-Term Agreement (LTA) pool of offshore service providers in the fourth quarter of last year.
Saudi Arabia- and UAE-based Lamprell has won three of the five CRPOs, while Larsen & Toubro Energy Hydrocarbon (L&TEH), a subsidiary of India’s Larsen & Toubro, has won the other two, sources told MEED.
The brief scope of work on the CRPOs and the winning contractors are as follows:
CRPO 150 – Lamprell: Upgrade of trunklines and flowlines at Aramco's Northern Area Oil Operations, mainly at the Marjan offshore oil field development
CRPO 157 – Lamprell: EPCI of a 48-inch trunkline covering a distance of 60 kilometres at the Zuluf field development, along with dredging works onshore
CRPO 158 – L&TEH: EPCI of 11 jackets at several offshore fields, including Abu Safah, Berri and Manifa. Aramco has stipulated that three of the jackets must be fabricated in the kingdom
CRPO 159 – Lamprell: EPCI of three production deck modules at the Abu Safah, Berri and Manifa offshore fields
CRPO 160 – L&TEH: EPCI of three more production deck modules at the Abu Safah, Berri and Manifa offshore fields.
The values of these five CRPOs are not yet known, but sources estimate their combined value to be “upwards of $3bn”.
It is understood that Aramco has notified Lamprell and L&TEH about their selection, although the sources could not confirm whether the contractors have received official letters of intent.
MEED previously reported that Aramco’s offshore LTA contractors submitted technical bids and associated In-Kingdom Total Value Add credentials for CRPO 150 on 14 November last year, while commercial bids were submitted by 8 December.
Aramco eventually asked bidders for CRPO 150 to extend the validity of their proposals until the end of June.
For CRPO 157, Aramco issued the tender to its offshore LTA contractors in late November, MEED previously reported. The bid submission date was then extended several times, with the final deadline set for 5 May.
The Saudi energy giant issued CRPOs 158, 159 and 160 to its offshore LTA contractors in late November and set an initial bid submission deadline of 15 January. The bid submission deadline was extended several times, to 26 January, 24 February, 19 March, 13 April and 20 April.
Offshore LTA contractors submitted bids for these three CRPOs by the final deadline of 27 April.
Aramco’s LTA pool of offshore service providers comprises the following entities:

- Lamprell (UAE/Saudi Arabia)
