

The Public Works Authority (Ashghal) of Qatar has invited firms to bid by 4 September for package 3 of the roads and infrastructure project in South of Al-Meshaf.
Package 3 of the project, called QS049, covers 64 hectares of a predominantly residential community.
The proposed work for package 3 includes:
- Road network with fully paved carriageways, including signalised junctions and at-grade roundabouts with provision for pedestrians and cyclists.
- On street parking layout and configuration.
- Kerblines and footways adjacent to roads.
- Road signs, including signage gantries, lighting and road markings.
- Complete surface water and groundwater drainage system.
- Section of Al-Wakra tunnel for surface water and groundwater.
- Advance direction signs and street signs.
- Emergency flood area 4 (EFA 4).
- Pump station complete with infrastructure including header tank, mechanical and electrical equipment, control and instrumentation, treatment facilities, ancillary buildings, access roads, surface water twin rising mains, groundwater rising main, valve chambers, drainage.
- Groundwater discharge and monitoring boreholes.
- Complete foul sewer network, including house connection up to property boundary and removal of septic tanks within the right of way.
South of Al-Meshaf is located approximately 5 kilometres west of Al-Wakra Municipality.
Overall, QS049 covers 9,726 residential plots, 1,600 commercial plots, four schools, three reserved government plots, 21 mosques, 13 parks and 226 open space or green areas.
Ashghal awarded an estimated $2.6bn-worth of road contracts in 2017, according to regional tracker MEED Projects.
An estimated $1.4bn-worth of contracts are due to be awarded this year.
