Bid deadlines delayed for coast guard stations and labour accommodation projects

Qatar’s Public Works Authority (Ashghal) has extended the bid deadline for two construction tenders in the country.

In the first tender, Ashghal has extended until 18 February bids for a contract for the construction of buildings and roads at coast guard stations in Shwaimsah and Ras Matbakh.

Ashghal said the Interior Ministry intends to establish new buildings and renovations at maritime bases for the Coasts & Borders Security Departments. The tender, which is only open to Qatari companies, has now had its bid deadline extended for the second time from its original deadline date of 30 December.

In the second tender, Ashghal has also extended until 18 February bids for a contract for the construction and maintenance of two new labour accommodation blocks.

The accommodation will be built for the Municipality and Urban Planning Ministry in the Al-Shamal Municipality in Qatar.

The tender calls for the construction of two 19-bedroom blocks, with the buildings also including kitchens, sitting/dining rooms and bathrooms. The project also includes construction of a guard’s block, along with the associated mechanical, electrical, plumbing and drainage services.

The tender, which is only open to Qatari companies, has now had its bid deadline extended for the second time from its original deadline date of 24 December.
