Systems contract bids already in
Bids for the two civil works packages for phase 2 of the Etihad Rail project have been submitted.
Awards are expected to be announced in the first quarter of 2013, when bids for the outstanding packages still out on tender have been handed in, according to a source close to the deal.
The contracts to design and build a 137km lines between Ruwais and Ghweifat and a 190km line between Liwa Junction and Al-Ain, were put out to tender in late July, along with the contract for the railway integration and systems contract.
Bids for the systems contract have already been submitted.
Construction of phase 1 of Etihad Rail has started. Phase 1 involves the building of a rail line transporting granulated sulphur from Abu Dhabi’s gasfields to the Port of Ruwais.
