China State awarded contract to build the Downtown Views II development

Beijing-based China State Construction Engineering Corporation (CSCEC) has been awarded the estimated AED1.29bn ($351m) contract to build the Downtown Views II towers for local developer Emaar.

The project is located on Doha Road next to the Downtown Dubai development and Dubai International Financial Centre. The works involve building three high-rise residential buildings with 1,509 serviced apartment units, a partial basement level, four levels of podium parking, mechanical, electrical and plumbing (MEP) plant rooms, and a ground floor retail area.

The consultants working on the project are the local Archgroup Consultants, Canada’s Norr Group and the local WME Engineering Consultants.

Emaar earlier awarded the local Al-Basti Muktha the contract to build Downtown Views I. That contract involves the construction of a 47-storey tower with a seven-storey podium. The consultants working on the project are Singapore’s DP Architects and US-based Aecom.

The contract award for Downtown Views II is the latest construction deal secured by China State in Dubai in recent weeks. In late August, it was awarded a AED512m ($140m) contract by local developer Damac Properties to build a tower at the Aykon City development.

The contract involves the construction of Tower C, which is a 62-floor residential building with a total built-up area of about 180,000 square metres. It includes two basement levels, the ground floor, 10 podium levels, a lifestyle and entertainment level, 48 residential floors and a rooftop.

In February, Damac awarded China State an estimated AED600m contract to build Tower B at the Aykon City development.
