
Contract covers the construction of depots
Malaysias Eversendai Corporation has won a $54m contract from the BACS consortium working on lines 1 and 2 of the Riyadh Metro scheme.
Eversendais contract is for the construction of the east, north and south depots, which involves the connection design, supply, fabrication, erection of steel work, application of intumescent fire proofing; inclusive of complete envelope cladding works for roofing and walling.
The works are scheduled to be completed by October 2016.
The BACS consortium, which comprises:
- US-based Bechtel,
- the local Almabani General Contractors,
- Athens-based Consolidated Contractors Company (CCC),
- Germanys Siemens, and
- US-based Aecom,
was awarded the $9.45bn contract for the delivery of lines 1 and 2 at the end of July 2013.
