Biography: Homaid al-Shemmari is the executive director of Mubadala Aerospace, a subsidiary of the Abu Dhabi government-owned investment vehicle Mubadala Development Company.

Al-Shemmari oversees the company’s operational and business development activities in the aerospace sector. He is also chairman of Mubadala Aerospace subsidiaries Abu Dhabi Aircraft Technologies, composites aerostructures firm Strata, Horizon International Flight Academy, Abu Dhabi Autonomous Systems Investment and Abu Dhabi Ship Building.

He is also a board member of Yahsat, a Mubadala subsidiary, which launched Abu Dhabi’s first satellite in the first quarter of 2011. Before joining Mubadala, he was a lieutenant colonel in the UAE Armed Forces.

Al-Shemmari has a bachelor’s degree in aeronautical engineering from Embry Riddle Aeronautical University in the US.
