Iran invites interest for wastewater consultancy contract

15 July 2014

Work will involve providing consultancy services and project management for the construction of plants at various locations

Iran’s National Water & Wastewater Engineering Company has invited companies to submit expressions of interest (EoIs) for two wastewater consultancy contracts for a water supply and sanitation project.

The contracts will involve providing consultancy services for engineering, supervision and project management for a scheme to provide water supply and sanitation services for zones in the northwest and southeast of the country. The two areas will comprise 36 villages in 11 different provinces. The client is planning to appoint a consultant for each zone.

The tender is open to consortiums with a local partner share of 51 per cent and companies from countries that are members of the Saudi-based Islamic Development Bank. Firms have until 5 August to submit EOIs for the contract.

In January, National Water & Wastewater Engineering Company invited firms to express interest in the contract to provide project management consultancy (PMC) services for the project to build six wastewater treatment plants.

The PMC contract will cover the construction of wastewater treatment plants in the following cities:

  • Abadeh
  • Darab
  • Fassa
  • Firoozabad
  • Neyriz
  • Sepidan

The six plants will have a combined total capacity of 64,400 cubic metres a day (cm/d). In addition to building the plants, the work will include constructing a collection and transmission network, which will have a total length of 550 kilometres.

The project is being financed by the Islamic Development Bank.
