Jordan extends deadline for oil and gas exploration interest

Energy companies are being sought to explore six blocks for potential oil and gas reserves

Jordan’s Ministry of Energy & Mineral Resources (MEMR) has extended the deadline for invited companies to submit expressions of interest in exploring the potential of exploring the potential of conventional and nonconventional oil and gas in six open exploration blocks.

Companies now have until 31 January to submit EOIs. The previous submission date was 31 December.

MEMR has invited qualified oil and gas companies and consortiums to submit expressions of interest for exploring conventional and/or unconventional gas reserves in the following six blocks:

  • Sirhan
  • Azraq
  • West Safawi
  • Northern Highlands
  • Jafr
  • Dead Sea

Qualified companies/consortiums will be invited to receive further tender documents in order to prepare and submit exploration work plan to be evaluated by MEMR. Only companies with approved work plans will be eligible to sign a memorandum of understanding (MoU) and/or production sharing agreement (PSA) with MEMR.
