Biography: Khaldoon Khalifa al-Mubarak is CEO and managing director of Mubadala, the investment vehicle of the government of Abu Dhabi. As CEO, he is responsible for ensuring Mubadala’s business strategy is aligned with efforts to diversify the economy of the emirate. Under his leadership, Mubadala currently has more than AED88bn ($24bn) in assets under management.
Al-Mubarak is also chairman of the Abu Dhabi Executive Affairs Authority, which provides strategic advice to the chairman of the Abu Dhabi Executive Council, of which he is also a member. Al-Mubarak is a director of First Gulf Bank, Italy’s Ferrari and Aldar Properties.
He is also chairman of the Emirates Nuclear Energy Corporation, Manchester City Football Club and Abu Dhabi Media Zone Authority. He graduated from Tufts University in the US.
