Companies asked to submit bids by 14 August after second extension
Kuwait National Petroleum Company (KNPC) has extended the deadline for companies to bid on sulphur treatment facilities at its Mina al-Ahmadi refinery.
KNPC tendered the engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contract in late April, setting a bid deadline for 19 June. This has been extended twice with, bids now due on 14 August.
The project will include:
- Liquid sulphur storage tanks
- Liquid sulphur feed pumps
- Granulator units
- Belt conveyor system
- Longitudinal stockyard for solid sulphur
- Stacking machine
- Reclaiming machine
- Ship loader
- Associated facilities
The new project is connected to a previous contract to upgrade the solid sulphur-handling and ship-loading facilities at Mina al-Ahmadi, which was won by South Koreas Daelim in 2013. The contract won by Daelim had a value of $519m.
