Companies to submit proposals by 9 August
Kuwait’s Electricity Ministry has extended the deadline for bids to install 1MW of rooftop photovoltaic solar power capacity for a second time, with bids now due on 9 August.
The RFP was issued on 27 March and bids were originally due by 19 June before the deadline was moved to 12 July. A further extension was granted to 26 July (MEED 18:7:11).
The solar panels are to be installed on the rooftops of the Electricity Ministry and the adjacent Public Works Ministry building in Kuwait City. The combined area of both rooftops is 8,400 square metres.
The tender is open only to local construction entities, but each company is entitled to select their own technology provider, as long as that firm has been in operation for at least 15 years.
