

Companies must submit documents 2 July
The Kuwait Authority for Partnership Projects (KAPP) has issued companies a request for qualifications (RfQ) for the development of a residential project for labourers.
The RfQ notice states that private developers will be responsible for the design, financing, construction, operation, maintenance and transfer of the development. The ministry has also stated that it is only inviting companies with at least 10 years experience in delivering PPP projects in Kuwait and other countries in the region.
Companies must submit documents 2 July.
The South Jahra Labour City project is set to be developed under the countrys PPP law and the regulations of the Ministry of Housing and the Kuwait Authority for Partnership Projects (KAPP).
The contract period with Kuwait Municipality is expected to be 40 years including a three-year construction period.
The project will be built on a land area of approximately 1 million square metres and will comprise residential areas, commercial and retail services, community services, as well as municipal and utilities services.
In February Kuwaits Public Authority for Housing Welfare also invited investors to submit EOIs for five mixed-use residential developments in the Jaber al-Ahmad and Sabah al-Ahmad areas under the countrys PPP law.
