Kuwait seeks consultants for expressway project

Kuwait’s Public Works Ministry (MPW) is seeking consultants to undertake a feasibility study and concept design for the improvement of Route 30 Fahaheel Expressway.

MPW has invited eight consultancy firms to bid for the contract. They are:

The deadline for submission of technical and commercial proposals for the contract is on 4 October, according to the state’s Central Tenders Committee.

Kuwait has launched numerous road projects in recent years to address traffic congestion particularly in Kuwait City and to facilitate the smoother flow of passengers and goods by road across the country.

It awarded an estimated $1.85bn-worth of road contracts January and July 2016, exceeding the total value of contracts it awarded for the full year 2015.

They include the $956m infrastructure package for the South Al-Mutlaa City, the $324m road works from Saad Al-Abdulla to Buhaith, and the $256m contract for road works from the 5th Ring Road to the 6th Ring road on Al-Ghouse Street.

Kuwait awarded $1.78bn-worth of roads contracts in 2015, the largest contract value ever awarded in a single year since 2002.
