Kuwait University extends deadline for faculty buildings contract

University has prequalified 26 consortiums for the Sabah al-Salem campus project

Kuwait University has extended the submission deadline to 12 September for a contract to build a faculty of arts and a faculty of education on the new $3bn Sabah al-Salem University campus.

The previous submission date for the project was 25 July. The tender has an initial guarantee of KD2.3m ($7.9m).

In March, the University issued a tender for an estimated $400m deal to build and maintain its planned College of Engineering and Petroleum (COEP) at the new Sabah al-Salem campus. The submission deadline for bids is 11 July.

Designed by the local Gulf Consult and US-based Cambridge Seven Associates, the new COEP facility will include eight engineering departments, as well as the university’s department of architecture (MEED 26:3:10).
