Local developer Aldar Properties has awarded the local Trojan General Contracting the AED1.3bn ($354m) main construction contract for its Water’s Edge development on Yas Island.
The Water’s Edge scheme comprises 13 residential apartment buildings near the proposed Sea World theme park, and walking distance from Yas Mall, Ferrari World and the Yas Marina Circuit. The project will also include a promenade area with retail and dining offerings for residents.
The early works package has been awarded to the Dutch Foundation, and those works started in February this year. Designs for the project, which were completed by the UK’s Atkins.
Aldar is developing a number of projects across Abu Dhabi. In October last year, it awarded the local Construction Group Contracting House the contract for the estimated AED745m main and early works on The Bridges development on Abu Dhabi’s Reem Island.
