Wade Adams will upgrade and expand the existing road infrastructure

The local Wade Adams Contracting has been awarded a AED135m ($37m) contract for the construction of infrastructure at Dubai Industrial Park at Dubai Wholesale City.

The contract involves the improvement and expansion of the existing road network, as well as other general infrastructure work across an area of about 1.5 million square metres. The works are expected to be completed by end-2018.

The local Port Saeed Transport & Building Contracting Company was awarded the enabling works contract for Dubai Wholesale City in late 2016.

The enabling works included, levelling, grading and excavating over an area of 135 million square feet, as well as the construction of a 15 kilometre dual carriageway road that will connect Mohammed bin Zayed Road and Emirates Road.

The Dubai Wholesale City project is a fully integrated trading hub and aims to attract AED30bn of investment. The city will offer companies and investors commercial and industrial land, markets, warehouses, showrooms and shops under one roof, as well as transport and storage services, as well as support services such as shipping, insurance, customs and other services.
