Ras al-Khaimah-based Al-Hamra Real Estate Development is set to launch the second phase of its Falcon Island project.

While little detail has been released about what the second phase will comprise, it is understood it will include more waterfront villas and a second private beach.

Details of the project will be released at the real estate exhibition Cityscape Global, taking place in Dubai on 8-10 September.

In March, Al-Hamra awarded a $150m construction contract to Beijing-based China Harbour Engineering Company for work on the Ras al-Khaimah project.

The deal involves marine and infrastructure work, including dredging the canal and landscaping beaches, as well as work on power, sewage, and road networks.

Existing beaches at Al-Hamra Village will also be renovated as part of the contract.

The project, which will include more than 150 waterfront villa units, private beaches, canals and parks, is expected to be completed by 2017.

In 2014, Al-Hamra Real Estate announced the appointment of Italy’s A2 Plus as the architect for the 150 villas on the island.
