Project to construct flowlines from wellheads to oil gathering centres

Local contractor Arabi Enertech has won a $177m contract to build flowlines at oil fields in Kuwait.

Project owner Kuwait Oil Company (KOC) awarded the engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contract after receiving bids from several firms in June.

The project calls for the construction of flowlines for gathering centres 29, 30 and 31.

In June, Arabi Enertech was awarded a $63m contract from KOC to install crude oil pipelines and related works in KOC’s West Kuwait area.

KOC aims to increase production to 3.65 million barrels a day (b/d) by 2020 and maintain this until 2030. Current production levels are about 2.9 million b/d.

Earlier this month, KOC invited companies to bid on a new project to inject water to increase production from the Burgan oil field.
