Mohammed Ibrahim al-Shaibani
Position: CEO and executive director, Investment Corporation of Dubai (ICD)
Biography: In addition to serving as the head of ICD, Mohammed al-Shaibani is director-general of the Rulers Court, the prime government body of Dubai. In 2010, he was also appointed as a board director of Dubai World. In December 2013, ICD acquired the Atlantis hotel on the Palm Jumeirah from Istithmar World, a unit of Dubai World.
As such, the running of Aquaventure, a 42-acre waterpark that serves as one of the main attractions in Dubai, falls under Al-Shaibanis remit. He serves in various board-level roles at several Dubai state bodies and companies, including being president of the Dubai Office, a private management office for the royal family of Dubai, a position he has held since 1998.
In addition to offering a number of water rides, the Aquaventure water park has a separate bay where guests can swim with dolphins.
