New deputy crown prince named

President Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultan al-Nahyan on 30 November issued an emiri decree announcing the appointment of Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed al-Nahyan as deputy crown prince of Abu Dhabi. Prior to his new appointment, Sheikh Mohammed was chief of staff of the UAE armed forces. Sheikh Mohammed is also the UAE's chief adviser on national security.

In early October, President Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan al-Nahyan appointed Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed al-Nahyan, as a new deputy prime minister (MEED 31:10:03).
