Project will facilitate water requirements for Liwa plastics project
Omans Majis Industrial Services, the state-owned water provider at Sohar Industrial Port, has invited contractors to bid for a deal to increase the capacity of the common cooling water system (CCWS).
Majis is increasing the capacity of its CCWS to supply the additional requirements from the under-construction Liwa plastics project and is shifting the feed for additional reverse osmosis (RO) plants at Sohar Industrial Port to the Sea Water Intake Pumping Station 2 (SWIPS2).
Contractors have until 6 July to submit bids for the tender.
In March, MEED reported that Majis had awarded a deal worth about RO12.3m ($32m) to UEM India Private Limited, a subsidiary of Japans Toshiba Group, to design and build a wastewater treatment and recycling plant in Oman.
