Oman’s Transport and Communications Ministry (MOTC) has invited firms to bid by 24 June for the contract to study the route linking Al-Kamil and Al-Ashkhara road in South Al-Sharqiya.
A 66-kilometre long single carriageway road, built in 1990, connects the towns of Kamil Wa al-Wafi, Jalan Bani Bu Hasan and Jalan Bani Bu Ali, and terminates in Al-Ashkhara.
The road passes through flat and rolling terrain and crosses multiple wadis (rivers). The study will seek various alternatives to overcome the existing road’s challenges.

- Ibn Khaldoun Almadaen Engineering Consultants (local)
- Ibrahim Jaidah Architects and Engineers (local)
- National Engineering Office (local)
- Nespak and Partners (local)
- Parsons (US)
- Renardet SA and Partners (Switzerland / local)
The selected consultant will undertake geological and geographical studies as well as architectural, civil engineering and contracts management consultancy.
