UK-based group signs agreement with Matrix Construction for modification works

Penspen has been awarded a deal to provide modification works at the Bab and Asab onshore fields in Abu Dhabi, the UK-based engineering group said.

Penspen has been subcontracted by the local Matrix Construction, which is carrying out the engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) work for the project.

Matrix was awarded the contract by Bab and Saba oil field operator Abu Dhabi Company for Onshore Petroleum Operations (Adco) to upgrade the facilities at the fields, in order to improve reliability, integrity and performance.

The works on the Bab and Asab fields comprise planned modifications and improvements on non-associated gas facilities.

Penspen previously carried out the front-end engineering and design (feed) study for the project.

Earlier this year, the firm was awarded a contract by Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (Adnoc) subsidiary, Adnoc Distribution, to provide detailed engineering services for the modification and upgrade of oil terminals and depots across the UAE.

It was also awarded a project management consultancy (PMC) contract for work on the offshore oil and gas hub of Das Island by Abu Dhabi Marine Operating Company (Adma-Opco).
