Position: President, Association Lalla Salma against Cancer (ALSC)

Biography: Princess Lalla Salma is the wife of King Mohamed VI and princess-consort of Morocco. She founded the Lalla Salma Cancer Prevention Association in Morocco and has been involved in HIV and AIDS prevention work in Africa. Established at Princess Lalla’s request, the ALSC has been working since 2005 to improve patient care, promote cancer prevention and make the fight against cancer a public health priority in the country. ALSC is involved in scientific research, with partnerships in Morocco and worldwide. These include ventures with the Moroccan Health Ministry, private laboratories or entities such as the UK’s GlaxoSmithKline, the WHO, the UN Population Fund, and Jordan’s King Hussein Cancer Foundation. Princess Lalla has a degree in engineering from the Ecole Nationale Superieure d’Informatique et d’Analyse de Systemes in Morocco.
