23 August 2017

Ashghal expects to receive bids by 3 October for the construction contract

Qatar’s Public Works Authority (Ashghal) has invited firms to bid by 3 October for a two-year framework contract to repair, replace and rehabilitate all sewer networks operated by the authority.

The scope of works include:

  • house connections
  • gullies
  • catch pits
  • inspection chambers
  • manholes
  • foul gravity sewers
  • rising mains
  • surface ground water sewers
  • lagoons
  • soak-aways
  • associated assets including fittings and accessories including all attenuation tanks, chambers, valves, covers, grates, signage and access

The tender is open to Qatari companies or joint ventures between Qatari and non-Qatari companies.

On 8 August, Ashghal released a tender for the contract to upgrade the foul sewer network in inner Doha, with submissions expected by 10 October.

Rapid urban development in Qatar in recent years has resulted in increased utilisation of its existing sewerage infrastructure.
