Saudi Arabia invites bids for Jubail infrastructure contract

Jubail contract will cover operations and maintenance of roads and related infrastructure

Saudi Arabia’s Royal Commission in Jubail has invited companies to submit bids for the contract for the operation and maintenance of roads and other related infrastructure around Jubail Industrial City.

Firms have until the 13 February 2013 to submit prices for the contract. The work will involve the operation and maintenance of roads, paths, storm drainage and materials-handling facilities.

This is one of several infrastructure contracts expected to be tendered for the Jubail Industrial City in the coming months.

The Saudi Arabian Railway Company (SAR) is to issue tenders for the Jubail Industrial City rail network in early 2013. The Sadara Chemical Company and the SAR signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to design and build the 200-kilometre railway network in the industrial city.

SAR will design and build a railway to transport Sadara’s products from the manufacturing facilities at its complex, currently being built in Jubail Industrial City 2, to King Fahd Industrial Port (KFIP) and Jubail Commercial Port (JCP)
