Three groups are being considered for the main construction package

Abu Dhabi’s Tourism Development & Investment Company (TDIC) has shortlisted three companies for the contract to build its new corporate headquarters in Abu Dhabi.

The three companies shortlisted for the construction deal are:

  • The local/Lebanese Arabian Construction Company (ACC)
  • The local Khansaheb Civil Engineering
  • South Korea’s Posco Engineering & Construction

TDIC received bids from contractors on 13 June (MEED 16:6:10).

The project involves the construction of three inter-linked office buildings of eight, four and five storeys and a three-level car park. The total gross floor area of the project will be about 114,000 square metres.

The project will cover a total land area of 20,500 sq m.

Singapore’s Surbana is the consultant for the project.

The enabling works and basement structural works have been completed and the estimated completion date for the entire project is the fourth quarter of 2011.

TDIC is currently developing a number of large projects in the emirate. One of these is the estimated $1bn Louvre Abu Dhabi museum on Saadiyat Island.

In April TDIC received bids for the substructure contract for the museum and has invited contractors to bid for the main construction package by 30 October.

Designed by French architect Jean Nouvel, the Louvre Abu Dhabi is part of the capital’s 18-square-kilometre Saadiyat Island Cultural District, which will also include the new Sheikh Zayed National Museum (MEED 22:4:10)
