Adnoc Distribution plans 131 self-service petrol stations with vapour recovery systems

Tebodin has been awarded a deal to design a project to convert UAE petrol stations into smart service stations and implement vapour recovery systems, according to a source familiar with the project.
Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (Adnoc) Distribution plans to upgrade 131 service stations in the UAE to allow self-service of fuel by a number plate recgonition system.
Through the system, fuel will be automatically dispensed and charged to the users account. This will integrate technologies such as radio frequency identification-based authorisation and payment, near-field communication readiness, as well as mobile and e-commerce platforms.
The fuel dispensers will be replaced to include vapour recovery systems.
Tebodin, a company of Germany-headquartered international engineering and services group Bilfinger, has been awarded several design contracts in the UAE this year.
