Oman Gas Company awards Argentinian group deal to carry out study at Salalah gas pipeline network
Argentina-based engineering group Tecna has won a contract for consultancy work on a liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) project in Salalah, southern Oman.
Over 10 months, Tecna will develop conceptual engineering for the extraction of LPG at various points of Oman Gas Company’s (OGC) Salalah pipeline network.
The contract includes economic studies and the development of business models, market research on LPG and condensate and estimate investments.
At least five other companies purchased tender documents for the conceptual study, including US group CB&I Lummus, New Delhi-based Engineers India, the UK’s Mott Macdonald and Australia-based WorleyParsons and Pakistani firm Zishan Engineers. The tender was originally launched on 27 July 2011.
OGC is a Muscat-based state-owned gas transportation company, operating a large network of gas pipelines and associated facilities throughout Oman. Tecna is a subsidiary of Spanish engineering group Isolux Corsan.
