MEED his the primary source of intelligence for all business sectors in the Middle East. Since its launch in 1957, MEED has been tackling news issues with ground-breaking exclusives that shape the Middle East. SMEinfo.me is an online resource offering information, mentoring, advice and support for small- and medium-sized enterprises operating in the UAE and beyond. WAM
The state-run Emirates News Agency (www.wam.ae), or Wakalat Anbaa al-Emara (WAM), is a division of the Ministry of Information and Culture. Its team of 180 local staff and 22 international reporters provide daily updates on official events and developments both within the UAE and overseas. Established in November 1976, it is currently published in Arabic, English and French. WAM is headquartered in Abu Dhabi, but has offices in each emirate as well as international staff in cities including Cairo, Beirut, Jerusalem, Riyadh, Damascus, Sanaa and Tripoli. Other offices and reporters are located in London, Paris, Brussels, Geneva, Berlin, Moscow, Washington, New York, Tehran, Islamabad, New Delhi, Seoul, Tokyo and Canberra. In 2010, WAM released 38,210 stories.
