Amlak appoints contractor for Bahrain scheme

The Sixty Six project will be made up for 66 fully furnished apartments

Bahraini developer Amlak Real Estate, the investment arm of the Social Insurance Organisation (SIO), has appointed a contractor for work on a residential project in the Um al-Hassam area.

The local Yousif Al-Zayani Trading & Contracting Company will build the six-story residential scheme, which is expected to be completed by mid-2018, according to a company statement.

The project, which will be called The Sixty Six, will be made up for 66 fully furnished apartments.

Amlak also recently appointed the local Al-Hedaya Contracting Company to carry out work on its Souq al-Buhair renovation project.

The project involves the contractor building a new mixed-use building as well as renovate and expand existing retail space at the market. It is understood that 30 new retail units will be added to the market.

The project is set for completion by mid-2017. The local Aref Sadeq Design Consultants is the lead consultant on the scheme.
