Chinese contractor won contract to build other towers for Emaar earlier in September

Beijing-based China State Construction Engineering Corporation (CSCEC) has been awarded the estimated AED800m ($218m) contract by local developer Emaar for the construction of towers in Dubai.

The Act One Act Two project involves the construction of two commercial and residential buildings over looking the Burj Khalifa and Dubai Opera house in the Downtown Dubai district close to Dubai International Financial Centre.

Emaar awarded China State the estimated AED1.29bn contract to build the Downtown Views II towers earlier in September.

That project is located on Doha Road next to the Downtown Dubai development and Dubai International Financial Centre. The works involve building three high-rise residential buildings with 1,509 serviced apartment units, a partial basement level, four levels of podium parking, mechanical, electrical and plumbing (MEP) plant rooms, and a ground floor retail area.

In late August, China State was awarded a AED512m contract by local developer Damac Properties to build a tower at the Aykon City development.

The contract involves the construction of Tower C, which is a 62-floor residential building with a total built-up area of about 180,000 square metres. It includes two basement levels, the ground floor, 10 podium levels, a lifestyle and entertainment level, 48 residential floors and a rooftop.

In February, Damac awarded China State an estimated AED600m contract to build Tower B at the Aykon City development.
