Biography: Jens Gronning is the president and CEO of Dubai-based UACC. Before joining UACC in October 2008, he was CEO of Norway’s Eitzen Chemical, based in Copenhagen. UACC was established in July 2007 by United Arab Shipping Company and it aims to build a fleet of medium- to long-range product tankers.
It currently operates a fleet of 12 medium-range and Panamax vessels, and will add more medium-range chemical tankers from South Korea this year. Gronning began his career at Knud I Larsen (KIL) in Denmark in 1991, where he worked until the company was purchased by Oslo-headquartered Tschudi & Eitzen in 2001.
By then, Gronning had risen to become the managing director of KIL Singapore. He graduated from Copenhagen Business School in 1991.
