Region must follow countries such as US and Singapore
Regulation of the district cooling industry must be a key priority in the Middle East to ensure increased sustainable practices in the sector, MEEDs Sustainable Cooling Infrastructure conference was told on 7 October.
At the moment, cooling companies are not regulated, it is difficult for government to regulate them. We need regulation of district cooling, from the design stage to end user, said George Kenich, chief executive officer, IDI.
Kenich said that countries such as the US and Singapore have regulated cooling industries, which helps ensure sustainable practices in the district cooling market.
