Tabreed starts cooling services for King Abdullah Financial District

KAFD development district cooling system will have a capacity of 100,000 refrigeration tonners when completed

Saudi Tabreed, the kingdom’s largest district cooling provider, has started supply of the first district cooling services for the King Abdullah Financial District (KAFD) in Riyadh.

“We started first supply of chilled water on 17 September,” said Abdul Salam al-Mobayed, vice president, business development and general manager STOM, Saudi Tabreed speaking at MEED’s Sustainable Cooling Infrastructure conference in DUbai on 7 October.

Al-Mobayed said that it is currently supplying less 10,000 refrigeration tonnes (RT), but this will increase to a total of 100,000RT when completed, which will make the development one of the largest district cooling systems in Saudi Arabia.

Saudi Tabreed also provides district cooling services for Saudi Aramco’s buildings in Dharan and will supply 55,000 RT for the under-construction Jabal Omar Development in Mecca.
