Australia’s WorleyParsons has been awarded a $90m extension to its engineering, procurement and management contract at the Rumaila oil field in the south of Iraq.
The extension was awarded by the partners developing the field, UK oil major BP, PetroChina and Iraq’s State Oil Marketing Organisation (Somo), according to a 24 October statement.
WorleyParsons was awarded the initial contract in early 2011 to provide conceptual designs, front-end engineering and design (feed) and project management services to boost production at the field. The contract is being executed from its offices in London, UAE and Iraq.
