EXCLUSIVE: Abu Dhabi seeks firms for Al-Ain airport package

10 June 2018
Abu Dhabi Airports Company plans to establish a 25,000 square-metre logistics park at Al-Ain International airport

Abu Dhabi Airports Company (ADAC) has invited firms to express interest by 17 June for the design and consultancy services contract for the first phase of the planned logistics park development at Al-Ain International airport.

The scope of work includes the provision of schematic and detailed engineering development, preparation of tender documents and construction supervision services.

The project covers the development of 25,000 square metres of storage and freight forwarders warehouses and light industrial units, including associated roadways and utilities infrastructure, a document seen by MEED states.

The construction of a logistics centre is part of Al-Ain International airport’s long-term development plan.

Nibras Al-Ain Aerospace Park, the UAE’s first aerospace cluster, is located alongside the airport and houses Strata, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Mubadala Investment Company specialising in the manufacture of aircraft parts and components.

Al-Ain International is Abu Dhabi’s second airport located approximately 18 kilometres of Al-Ain City.

It is being run by ADAC, which operates Abu Dhabi International airport and the client for the multibillion-dollar Midfield Terminal Complex, which is expected to enter operations next year.
